    Molson Canadian Beer Keg Wall

Who doesn't love a wall of beer? Yup...only in our dreams also.

Well the Molson's Canadian Hockey House for the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympics has one!

The tops and bottoms of 40 or so beer kegs were cut off. Electropolishing was chosen for its ability to brighten the surface while maintaining its original condition by controlling the surface dissolution rate.  Electropolishing is alot more economical than mechanically "buffing".

The ultra clean, micro deburred, and brightened kegs were cemented in the wall. Check out the photos "HERE" or by clicking on the pictures below.

Now if we could only convince Molsons to pay us in beer! LOL!

Prince Charles, Camilla, Wade Baker, and Chilco...?

As promised we have updated the Olympic Leaf photos showing installation, completion, and...Royal Admiration! Click "HERE" or any of the thumbnail pics below to view. The "North Star" as created and named by renowned artist Wade Baker of Sky Spirit Studios is located at the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympic Village.

Prince Charles, Prince of Wales and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall meet Wade Baker, a First Nation People, as they tour the 2010 Olympic Village Site on November 7, 2009 in Vancouver, Canada. The Royal couple were visiting Canada from November 2 to November 12 and participated in commemorations and celebrations that honour Canada's persons, places and events. This was the Prince of Wales's 15th visit to the country.

    Stainless Steel Wood? Huh?

Well we thought we've seen it all. While there have been some very un-usual and unique parts coming through the doors at Chilco. This one is up there! Can you guess what it is?

It is a buch of 304 s/s rod welded together to form a "stainless steel" wood pile! This will be placed in an outdoor gas fireplace Click "HERE" or on the pictures to see the full photo gallery of before and after shots. The "pile" was brought in with lots of weld scale and heat tint etc. We processed by pickling/passivation to loosen and remove heavy scale. Then electropolished to brighten  and polish all the intricate surfaces. Can you imagine having to polish by hand? Ouch!

Comon guys, show your support for MOvember and grow a moustache!!!

    What is it?

The idea for Movember was sparked in 2003.  The guys behind it joked about 80s fashion and decided it was time to bring the moustache back.  In order to justify their Mos (Australian slang for moustache), they used their new looks to raise money for prostate cancer research… never dreaming that facial hair would ultimately lead to a global movement that would get men talking about a taboo subject – their health.

A Mo Bro starts Movember – the month formerly known as November – clean shaven, and grows a moustache all month long, garnering support from friends and family in the form of donations.  What’s more, a Mo Bro is a walking billboard for the cause as his new look opens the door for him to talk about prostate cancer – making the moustache a symbol, much like the pink ribbon is for breast cancer.  Each Movember culminates in a Gala Partè in major cities around the globe where Mo Bros dress up to match their Mo, channeling the likes of Tom Selleck, Ghandi and Ron Burgundy, vying for the ultimate accolade:  Man of Movember.

While growing a Mo is left to the guys, Mo Sistas (women who support their guys) form an important part of Movember by recruiting Mo Bros, helping to raise funds and attending the highly anticipated Gala Partés.

So your support for prostate cancer research, grow a moustache. Ladies, by all means if you have the ability, grow one too. Or donate online by clicking "HERE"
